Recently, we were WAY BLESSED by some supporters. They insisted that we take a vacation...AND PAID FOR IT! (Well, a really big chunk of it). With out their gift, there is NO way that a vacation would have been possible.
So, we said "Oh, I guess we'll just HAVE to go then". So...WE DID!
To San Ya Bay in Ha!nan. (I tried to upload some photos, but it was taking "FOR...EVV...ERRRR" - Sandlot anyone??)
Anyway, Ha!nan is the big Island off the south of Ch!na. Its referred to (in American travel guides) as the "Hawaii of Ch!na". And it IS! For the most part! However, Justin thinks Hawaii has more palm trees and better tasting coconuts. But, I've (Shelli) never been to Hawaii, so I think it is DOWN RIGHT GORGEOUS! You could have fooled me!
"Shelli, Would you like a (not as good tasting as Hawaii) Coconut??" YES PLEASE!
We've been relaxing, swimming, getting lost (ha ha), walking the beaches, finding yummy places to eat and having a GREAT TIME!
But about once a day, it seems that things aren't exactly going our way. See, here's the deal: It appears that Justin and I officially went to battle with San Ya.
First morning we go down for breakfast and order what ever we want because our room came with a "free breakfast for two". WRONG!!!!! Not so fast. It is actually a "breakfast VOUCHER for two". So, we kind of went a little over board and had a rather expensive breakfast that first day. Oh well. Live and learn.
Monday, Justin lost his wedding ring in the ocean. AAAGGHHH!(Actually, it wasn't his wedding ring, but a close second that he wore almost more than his actual one.)
Tuesday, my hair dryer exploded. NNNOOO! (it was a good one too!)
Wednesday (Today), my sunglasses broke. UGH!
And, almost every sign is printed in Ch1nese and Russian, so we can't always tell if its a public or private beach. We've been kicked out of three little beach huts. EMBARRASSING!!!
So, we've definitely experienced some not so great moments. But, we've also experienced some AWESOME ONES! Like, watching the sun set over the ocean. Meeting two extremely sweet local girls and playing with them on the beach. Drinking out of a coconut. Laying on the beach all day doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!...and so much more! We're blessed!
And, we're starting to get the hang of things and are starting to feel pretty good.
We now go down each morning with our 15 RMB / per person breakfast vouchers and order what ever we can with that amount. SO IT IS FREE!!!
Justin DOES haven another wedding ring waiting for him when he gets home.
The hotel has a hair dryer I can use.
I brought duct tape with me (thanks Mel Murray) and have "fixed" my glasses. I may even start a new trend.
And, if we get kicked out of a little beach hut...we'll just move on to the next one I suppose.
Oh...and, I bought by very first "MuMu". My Moms side of the family may be the only ones who actually "get that". Its kind of an inside joke.
LIFE IS GREAT! Ta Ta for now!

Awesome! I am so glad you guys are vacationing! I am hoping that the father gives you rest and renewal while you're there. Shelli, do you get to enjoy your bday there?
I want to hear more about the food and the Russians in speedos.
I hereby declare that "San Ya!" = Chinese for "Donkey Kick!"
Glad you're still alive after getting donkey kicked by the amazing-tropical-but-not-so-palmy-or-coconutty-resort-vacation-spot. Love you guys!
