Sushi and Horton...

Shelli here...

I've now officially been working in the Plateau Perspectives/Y.ushu Earthquake Relief office as a volunteer bookkeeper for six days. I look at the back of Brian H's head all day as he works diligently on the website and watch numerous other people scramble around to get things on the ground in Y.ushu organized and running with as much efficiency and accuracy as possible.

I'm blessed to work along side some other AMAZING folks in this office. Jamie N. being one of them. Its awesome to sit and watch him network with so many people and to get to know him better. He's lived here for so long and has such a passion for this place.

Justin has been editing the video that you can see on the Y.ushu Earthquake Relief website (on the left of this page) and working along side some other folks in town to do briefing and debriefing for people that are coming back into X.ining that has done relief work there in Y.ushu. And, believe me...the debriefing is DEFINITELY needed. So many of our friends are witnessing death first hand and grief beyond words.

On a lighter note: Sushi and Horton...
Today, one of the guys in the office (did I mention I'm the only girl?) brought some sushi that his wife made. YUMMY! I haven't had sushi in a long time, and it was OH so good.

Also, I needed something to brighten my day with all this sad talk, so, let me introduce my new plant, "Horton":

Doesn't this plant look like something you would see in a Dr. Seuss book? This also gives you a good idea of what I look at every day. Yes, thats the back of Brians head. :)
