Week 3 here at BFBC came to a close on Saturday and today starts week 4. Its hard to believe that we've been here almost a month.
Some big news!!:
We have an apartment in the city we're moving to. It was a TOTAL surprise and blessing from God. We weren't looking for one yet, but some other folks that live over there have decided to come back home to the states indefinitely and needed someone to take over their apartment. So...we got it!! WOO HOO!!!!!!! We start covering rent on it this month. Its not furnished, but they're leaving all major fixtures for us. (Bath, toilet, sink, washer) We'll have to buy a stove and furnishings...but, its ready for us to move in. THIS IS A MAJOR PRAISE!!! THANK YOU GOD!!!
Some "goings on":
Last weeks challenge (remember, if you're planning on attending BFBC...you can't read this part. Skip to the "**") wasn't too hard, if you've ever been camping. It was a mock earthquake. So, no running water or electricity. We lived by candle light and this "Jack and Jill" went up a hill to fetch a pail of water every day to take a bath and brush our teeth. However, funny side note. Oklahoma City had an ACTUAL earthquake yesterday. None of us felt it...but, I thought that was good timing.
**
We have no idea of what this weeks challenge will be yet, but we're sure it will be something worth reading about.
One thing about BFBC that has been good / really annoying is that the world and time just flies by and you don't even realize it. Last week was the one year anniversary of our miscarriage and Shelli's grandpa's death, which we didn't even remember until Shelli spoke to her Sister last night on the phone. Weird. I guess life just moves on...even when you're not paying attention.
Well, we're learning lots of really neat stuff here. Imagine taking a semester of seminary and cramming it into 2 and 1/2 months. Its pretty intense. In the (almost) 4 weeks that we've been here, we've received 9 books to read. Yikes! But, all that to say...we're loving it. Its definitely a challenge, but we love it.
Update on support raising:
WE'RE STILL RAISING SUPPORT. Actually, we would love to ask people to dedicate some time each week to pray with us about it. We're still needing quite a bit more each month. Also, our townhouse has still yet to sell.
Departure:
As of now, the plan is to still be home during the full month of May (we graduate from BFBC on April 25th) and then we'll fly out to our new home sometime in June. We're really excited about our new little apartment. We think its just perfect for a starter home over there. WOO HOO!!!
Okie doke. Well...thats it for now. We'll try to throw some BFBC pictures on here some time soon.
PS: Happy Birthday Judy and Gennie!
