...and a bunch of other stuff we've experienced in the last month.
Company:
In June, we had the AWESOME priviladge to hang out and host some of our great friends, Jared and Lindi. They're the "brainy" type that can get thousands of dollars in grants to come and do research all while having an amazing time and encouraging all of us out here.
Lindi showed up with a head full of dreadlocks, but after one bad hairwashing experience, had to pull and comb them all out. Which...I've gotta say...didn't think was a possibility. She left China with her normal long silky blond hair. (PS. Lindi...I still find some of your hairs in my living room. Ha!)
Haircuts:
In the last week, Justin went from this...

...to THIS!
Needless to say, NONE of his students recognized him and were a little confused. Our little friend Esther (3 years old) didn't even want to go near him. Ha ha ha. And, not quite sure why he's not smiling in either of these photos. He really IS a happy guy.
More Company:
On June 26th-ish, a short term team rolled into town from Northwest Arkansas. It consisted mostly of people from Fellowship B.ble church (one of which was a former camper of mine at New Life Ranch), but also tagged along two folks from our home chu.rch. Michelle Fries and her son Marcom!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!! They're at our house for a portion of this week and we're soaking up every bit that we can. Its been awesome having them in our home.
Life... :
On Monday, July 12th, we (along with three other families) are heading out on a month long journey through the northern Kh.@m T.bet@n area. Since the earthquake, we've found ourselves in a "What Now?" phase (we were originally planning on moving to Y.ushu in the next year or so). We'll be using this month to really seek the Father and try to make some decisions about a new plan. Our desires to love the Kh@m people has not changed...but maybe the location has. We'll keep you posted.
And lastly, our affiliation with ADMG/"The J@de Tree Project" (the rug company):
Some of you reading already know this, but some may still be unaware or confused. So we will try and clear up any confusion.
Since our time at He@rt of G.d's "boot camp" a year and a half ago we were released to pursue our own ideas and ventures while working along side the Kh@m T1betans in Ch1na. Having the option to re-join the rug company after our language study was over. Since moving out here, we along with the leadership from He@rt of G.d and ADMG have realized that it was the best decision for us to no longer be affiliated or have the option to re-join ADMG, but to be fully released to pursue our own ideas with our own ability. We are still in love with ADMG "The J@de Tree Project" and have great friends working with it, but are no longer officially affiliated with them.
Well, thats basically us in a nut shell. We'll send out another update when we return from our journey. Please be "lifting us up" during that time. Please ask for safe travels, good health, safety for the little ones coming with us (there are 4 kids under 4 years old) and an overall time of fun and discovery.
Love you all,
The Jones
