woah, Woah, WOAH!!!

To the tune of that one song that played over and over and over again about four years ago:

Great googly moogly, this home study stuff is not for the light at heart or for the person who is just "casually thinking about adoption". OH NO! Be forewarned, it is a double doozy and a half.




Paper work? OH MY GOODNESS YES!!!!!!
Temperament Analysis exam? Yes, of course.
Financial records need? Sure, why not.
Smoke detectors and extinguishers? Yes, required. (however, you can't buy smoke detectors in China. UH OH!)
Criminal background checks? Uh huh.
Child abuse background checks? Yeppers.
Life and health insurance required? Yes indeed.

Wait...what? INSURANCE???????? We haven't had insurance in about three years. Uh oh!

Fact 1: Private life and health insurance is expensive!
Fact 2: If you have pre-existing conditions (which I, Shelli, do), they may drastically jack up the price or not approve you.
Fact 3: We need health insurance to adopt.
Fact 4. We also need life insurance to adopt.
Fact 5: AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And did I mention that it is EXPENSIVE??????????? Oh, yah...I did.

What are we going to do? I guess we'll just start the enrollment process and see what happens. And, I sure hope it gets through the process quickly or this whole thing could be put on hold for a long time.
